Calpico Soda



Calpis was created in Japan in 1919 by Kaiun Mishima. The unusual name of the drink is a combination of calcium and "salpis", a sanskrit word suggesting the ripening and fermenting of milk, or refinement of flavor. Indeed it is a yogurt-like fermentation by lacto bacteria that gives this drink an appealing taste much similar to a "Yakult" drink with a refreshing light carbonation. Calpis is marketed in the U.S. and worldwide as Calpico Soda.

An immensely popular non-carbonated drink that stirs the imagination with every sip. The product stood the test of time and is iconic across the fridges of many bars and restaurants in Asia. In recent times, different versions of exotic cocktails with Calpico Soda are popping out across bars and clubs all across Asia.
